Issue 13

Hey.

If you’re reading this, chances are, you like words.

Like me.

So, I hope you enjoy today’s sweet and savory collection of words pulled from the far flung corners of the internet.

Enjoy. Or don’t. I won’t be offended.

HEADLINE — HINGE

Adults don’t want to be on dating apps forever. Making the potential outcome presented by Hinge ultra powerful.

“Dating,” “designed,” and “deleted” create an alliteration to help the line stick.

SENTENCE — VANCOUVER CONVENTION CENTRE

I read a great linkedIn post this week from Eddie Shleyner that perfectly describes the ad above:

“Conversion copy should not call attention to itself.

It should call attention to the prospect, to her problems. Or to the product, to the pleasure it produces, or to the pain it prevents.

But not to itself.”

In other words, copy should move us towards pleasure or away from pain. And, we can all relate to the slow-burning pain of a drab conference room.

PARAGRAPH — BEANSTORY

Say something meaningful.

Tell a story. Share your mission. Prove why your product is different or better.

"I write entirely to find out what I'm thinking, what I'm looking at, what I see and what it means."
